Description

In antigen capture ELISA, antibody is bound to solid phase and the antigen in the test solution along with the labelled antigen is allowed to compete for the binding sites of the antibody. This kit demonstrates the principle of competitive ELISA, a type of antigen capture ELISA. Here the antibody is bound to the solid phase. The antigen is labelled and a constant amount of labelled antigen is mixed with the test solution which contains an unknown amount of the antigen and then allowed to bind to the antibody on the solid phase. High levels of antigen in the test solution will reduce the amount of bound labelled antigen. The quantitation of the antigen is done using standard antigen provided in the kit.
The kit contents are sufficient for 4 experiments.
